How is my timeline created?
Lifeline automatically connects places and journeys. The app needs ‘Always’ location access and Motion & Fitness permission. You can correct places and transport modes.
How much battery does Lifeline use?
Barely noticeable: in everyday use Lifeline needs only around 2–3% battery per day. It tracks precisely while you move and switches to power-saving mode as soon as you arrive somewhere.
Does my data stay on my iPhone?
Your timeline is stored locally. Individual coordinates are sent to Apple Maps for maps and place names. Photos and Apple Health are optional.
Can I correct a wrong match?
Of course. Lifeline recognises a lot automatically – and if something isn’t right, you adjust places and journeys with just a few taps. Your timeline, exactly as you lived it.
How do I back up my data?
Open Settings and the Data section. Export a backup as a file. Restoring a backup replaces the existing Lifeline data; check the displayed summary first.
