Privacy policy

In short
Lifeline does not collect personal data for us. There is no account, no Lifeline cloud, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Your timeline stays on your iPhone. As the provider, we receive none of your data.

Location and motion
With your permission, Lifeline uses ‘Always’ location access and Motion & Fitness to detect places and journeys automatically. This data is processed and stored exclusively on your device. You can pause recording at any time and change permissions in iOS Settings.
Apple Maps
Maps and place names are provided by Apple via MapKit. To do so, your device sends individual coordinates or map sections to Apple – without an account and without us having access. Apple’s privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Photos
If you allow it, Lifeline reads the capture time and location of photos in your library to match them to places. Only references are stored; the photos themselves stay in your library.
Apple Health
Optionally, with your explicit permission, Lifeline reads workouts from Apple Health to show them in your timeline. Health data is processed only on your device, never transferred and never used for advertising or profiling. Lifeline does not delete or modify Health data.
Backups
Lifeline only creates a backup file when you trigger it. Where you save or share it is up to you.
Retention and deletion
You can delete entries in the app at any time. Removing Lifeline from your device deletes all data stored locally by the app.
Your rights
Since we receive no personal data from you, we cannot provide information about it or delete it – all data stays with you on your device. For questions, contact us at info@merakee.at. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in Austria the Datenschutzbehörde (https://www.dsb.gv.at/).
Children
Lifeline is not specifically directed at children and does not collect data from children.
Changes
If the app changes in a way that affects how data is handled, we will update this privacy policy.
